Faculty
Welcome to Advanced Academic Programs Faculty Services. Our aim is to provide the services needed to promote excellence in teaching and learning at our two locations and online. Whether you are new to teaching at AAP or a returning lecturer, you will find staff support, resources, and facilities to enrich your teaching experience.
Ending the Semester/Term
Every semester we give students the opportunity to comment on the quality of the courses in which they enrolled. The evaluation period is the last week of class. Advanced Academic Programs uses online evaluation software so students receive an automated email with an embedded personal password that links to their course evaluation. We ask faculty to assist us in promoting student completion of the JHU online course evaluations at the end of each semester or term. Once the results of the evaluations are summarized, faculty are sent their individual course results approximately 4 weeks after the semester is over, via an email from [email protected].
Faculty enter grades online for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms by going to SIS. If you are not familiar with SIS, please see the SIS Help for Faculty. Grades should be submitted within 72 hours of the course end date. Students who are expecting to graduate and receive their diplomas in May cannot do so if their Spring grades have not been submitted. Please contact the AAP Registration Office at [email protected] if you cannot meet that deadline; the office can tell you the graduating students whose grades need to be received first. Faculty do not receive grade sheets in the mail from the Registrar. Faculty using Canvas may import grades directly into SIS. Use your JHED login and password to log into SIS.
For further information about submitting grades, please view the AAP Grading Policy page.
For New Instructors
Your JHED Account
Johns Hopkins Enterprise Directory system is an online, comprehensive source for address, telephone, e-mail, and other contact information for students, faculty, and staff at Johns Hopkins University.
Your JHED Login ID
Your JHED Login ID (JHED ID or LID) is the username that you use when you log into the JHED system. Many other resources at JHU now use JHED to authenticate users (i.e., allow access). Think of it as a “single password” login. For instance, to get to your JHU email, log into a PC in a public computing facility, or register for classes online, you could use the same JHED LID and password.
