Robert J. Torongo, P.M.P., is Senior Vice President of Consulting at Ipsos Public Affairs. He is based in Washington, D.C. Primarily, Mr. Torongo works with federal agencies, policy organizations, and universities on designing and implementing federally-funded statistical research. For the past 18 years, Mr. Torongo has designed and conducted surveys across a diverse array of topic areas. Bringing depth of experience in survey research, his expertise includes sample design, estimation, survey methods, and survey operations; and, he has published numerous papers and articles on statistical methods and survey research techniques. Prior to joining Ipsos in 2015, he served Deloitte consulting, where he was a Senior Manager in the Advisory Analytics Group. Previously, he was Director of Analytics for The Gallup Organization, a leading social policy research and polling firm. For seven years prior to that, Mr. Torongo served the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as an Economist on the Consumer Price Index survey. Bob is a member of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, the Insights Association, and is a member of the Insights Association Government Privacy Committee. Mr. Torongo earned his B.S. in Economics from the University of Kansas and his M.A. in Applied Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.
