At Johns Hopkins, Mel Richey is a lecturer in the MS in Data Analytics and Policy program.

As Founder and CEO. Richey leads Merigold Analytics where she manages her areas of expertise including the design and implementation of machine learning-based technologies and generative AI, agent-based modeling and simulation, technical diligence for M&A, graph analytics, serious game development, and the cognitive and behavioral sciences.

Throughout her 10-plus years of government contracting, Richey has developed several sole-sourced IC client programs, led competitive technical prototype teams, and fostered technical practice areas and competency across multiple services organizations. She is an avid gamer, international traveler, adjunct professor, and chef who enjoys the wonders of worldbuilding, technical solutioning, foreign flavors, and immersive storytelling.

Richey holds a BS in Linguistics from the University of Florida, an MS in Intelligence Studies and Analytic Methods from Mercyhurst University, and a PhD in Computational Social Science from George Mason University.
