Leonardo Mariño-Ramírez

Dr. Leonardo Mariño-Ramírez earned his Ph. D in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University. He has authored over 70 publications and received a 2019 Fulbright grant for his project “Cloud Computing for Bioinformatics Research: Capacity Building for the Analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing Data Using Cloud Resources in Mexico”. Dr. Mariño-Ramírez is the co-founder of The Panamerican Bionformatics Institute (PABI) and was a winner of the GlaxoSmithKline Bioinformatics Prize for Best Paper at the 13th Annual International Conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology. He is currently an editor for Briefings in Bioinformatics and BMC Genomics as well as a reviewer for multiple publications, including Oxford Journals, American Chemical Society Publications, and Elsevier Journals. He has given lectures at the International Centre for Engineering and Biotechnology as well as at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Mariño-Ramírez currently teaches Introduction to Bioinformatics and Next Generation DNA Sequencing and Analysis at AAP.
