Lawrence Jones II

At Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lawrence Jones II is a lecturer for the Master of Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship program.
Dr. Jones is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Biotechnology Health Management and Care LLC in Pikesville, Maryland. He earned his PhD from Regent University in the School of Business and Leadership with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership. His doctoral research explored “An Exploratory Quantitative Comparison of Direct Reports’ Perceptions of Entrepreneurial Leadership of Biotechnology Founders Versus Nonbiotechnology Founders.” Jones tested for empirical evidence to distinguish the entrepreneurial leadership behaviors of the biotech entrepreneur.
Jones is also a graduate of Webster University with a BA in biology, a graduate of the Masters in Biotechnology program from The Johns Hopkins University, and a graduate of the University of Maryland at Baltimore County (UMBC) Masters in Public Policy. In addition, Jones has received Certificates in Entrepreneurship from The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Innovate Program and Business Development from the National Science Foundation (NSF) I-Corps lean customer discovery program. Jones also completed additional continued education training through the Harvard University School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Patient Professors Academy Program.
Dr. Jones’ vast professional employment experiences are by way of laboratory technical positions from the bench to managerial level positions. His work expertise spans time at the Washington University School of Medicine, The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and in the industry via the Rockville, Maryland bio space arena with the BioReliance Corporation. He also provides consulting for emerging start-up bioengineering technologies and is a member of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE).
