At Johns Hopkins, Kelly Tongol is a lecturer in the MS in Intelligence Analysis program.

Tongol spent her career as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard where she was the first Coast Guard Officer to deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Tongol specializes in intelligence analysis, collections, and transnational threats. Her career includes joint experience at the Natonal Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency, at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as a Professor of Practice, and as a Coast Guard Senior Service Advisor at the National Intelligence University.

Tongol holds a BS in Marine and Environmental Science from the Coast Guard Academy and a MS in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University. She is an avid skydiving instructor and loves teaching and mentoring others in the sport. She also teaches yoga and meditation and enjoys teaching yoga to active duty and military veterans. Tongol spends her free time with her son and volunteering as a crisis counselor.
