Joelle Cannon is the District Director for U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, serving 30 counties in Southwest Missouri. She spent 12 years as congressional staff on Capitol Hill, advising on budget and finance policy matters in both the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. Cannon was a policy staffer for former Congressman Mike Pence, served as Deputy Policy Director for the Senate Republican Conference, and as Budget Director for former Senator Tom Coburn. Her work investigating the federal budget, government spending, and the tax code has been profiled by the Washington Post, Forbes, Barron’s, and others, and the CATO Institute named her “one of Capitol Hill’s top budget experts.”

Joelle holds a degree in political science from Missouri State University and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. She was the Hopkins’ 2014 Harold Seidman Award recipient for outstanding thesis, “Tax Treatment of Nonprofit Organizations.” Joelle and her daughter live in Missouri and are life-long Kansas City Chiefs fans.
