Dr. Brasher’s research and teaching interests focus on computational social science. She was the Principal Investigator for an interdisciplinary study of organizational engagement funded by the National Science Foundation with colleagues in computer science. Dr. Brasher has published work on interest groups and lobbying and is the author of Vital Statistics on Interest Groups and Lobbying (CQ Press). She has also published in the American Journal of Political Science and Political Analysis. Her current focus is on technological innovation, data, and policy at the local government level.

Dr. Brasher has taught courses on data science, research methods, and statistical analysis. Dr. Brasher received her PhD in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
