Christen D. Blackledge
Lecturer
At Johns Hopkins, Christen D. Blackledge currently serves as a lecturer in the MA in Museum Studies program, where she teaches Fundamentals of Museum Fundraising.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Blackledge is the Special Events Manager for Kids’ Meals Inc., where she oversees small and large in-person and virtual fundraising events. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in crafting, planning, and executing fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and events.
Blackledge has always been a servant leader with a passion for uplifting her community. She became enthralled with the art of fundraising as the Fund Development Chair for the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals, moving through the ranks from volunteer to Senior Manager of Leadership Giving.
A member of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Psi Mu Omega Chapter, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Houston Chapter, Blackledge also volunteers with various community organizations including the Girls Scouts. She enjoys playing volleyball, Do-It-Yourself crafts, and training for her next marathon.
Blackledge earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Business Administration from Tuskegee University and an MBA, with a concentration in Human Resources Management, from the University of Nebraska.
