Charles Larkin

Dr. Charles J. Larkin is the Director of Research at the Institute for Policy Research, University of Bath. He was most recently Parliamentary Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health, Dr. Michael Harty, TD (Ind., Co. Clare). He was previously Chief of Staff to Senator Sean Barrett (Ind) of the Trinity College Dublin constituency of Seanad Éireann. He is an adjunct assistant professor and research fellow at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin with visiting and distance posts at the Institute of Public Administration (Dublin, DGov programme) and Johns Hopkins University (MA Global Security Studies) in Baltimore. He previously lectured at Maynooth University, Cardiff Metropolitan University and ESC Toulouse. He acted a strategic consultant for the Technological University of Dublin during its application process. Dr. Larkin was previously employed by the Irish Department of Finance and the New York City Police Department. Dr. Larkin’s has a B.A.(Mod.) and Ph.D. in economics from Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Larkin is a native of New York City and has been resident in Europe since 1998.
