Anne Hansen
Lecturer
At Johns Hopkins, Anne Hansen serves as a lecturer in the MS in Regulatory Science program as a highly experienced biotechnology executive with an extensive background in clinical trial development.
Hansen started her career in clinical operations, working initially at a contract research organization before moving to a biotech startup, and later to Genentech in positions of increasing responsibility. During her tenure in clinical operations, Hansen has worked on a variety of clinical trial therapeutic areas including women’s health, ophthalmology, and cardiovascular disease. While at Genentech, she transitioned into biometrics, specializing in clinical data management and worked subsequently on oncology and immunology trials. After nearly a decade at Genentech, Hansen joined Gilead Sciences as a manager in clinical data, focusing on oncology and liver disease for five years while managing a team of four people. Approximately six years ago, Hansen transitioned into work for a number of small startup biotechnology companies to head the clinical data management function, allowing her to make a greater impact and further develop her leadership skills.
Hansen earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Davis in Spanish with a concentration in biology. After working in clinical trial development for 20 years, she enrolled in the Johns Hopkins MS in Regulatory Science program where she completed her degree in 2022.
