Angela Lewis
Senior Lecturer
At Johns Hopkins, Angela Lewis serves as a Senior Lecturer in the MS in Intelligence Analysis program.
Lewis has spent over two decades in the world of intelligence, beginning as a collection management officer and later serving as a senior targeting officer within the Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations. She completed multiple tours abroad in Central Europe and the Middle East before transitioning to the private sector, where she held executive and intelligence-related roles at The Walt Disney Company, Salesforce, and Creative Artists Agency. She now works as a senior advisor of training and consulting for Sibylline.
A dedicated “pracademic,” Lewis enjoys bridging the gap between theory and practice through teaching courses in counterterrorism, intelligence methodologies, OSINT, the psychology of intelligence, and advanced analytic techniques for various undergraduate- and graduate-level programs.
Lewis has published book chapters and academic journal articles and has been featured on several podcasts. She has a co-authored book on intelligence in the private sector forthcoming in late 2025. She is also passionate about mentoring both aspiring intelligence professionals and those transitioning from government service.
She earned her PhD in Global Leadership from Pepperdine University, where her research focused on leveraging intelligence for strategic decision-making. Her current work explores the application of intelligence in the private sector and its broader role in decision theory. She also holds an MA in International Relations with a concentration in Foreign Policy from American University, and dual BAs in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Cincinnati.
