Join the Johns Hopkins MA in Writing program alumna Wendy Wall for a discussion and Q&A with educator and author Mark Farrington on his new novel, Loss of Life.
Farrington recently retired after nearly 40 years of teaching writing, including 25 years in the MA in Writing and Teaching Writing programs at Johns Hopkins University. His short stories and creative nonfiction have appeared in numerous journals and National Writing Project publications. His fiction has received the Editor’s Choice Award in the Raymond Carver Fiction Contest, the Dan Rudy Fiction Prize, and an Individual Artists Grant from the Virginia Commission on the Arts.
A four-time recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award in the Johns Hopkins MA in Writing program, Farrington earned his BA in English and American Literature from Colby College and his MFA in Fiction Writing from George Mason University. He recently moved to Maine with his wife and their Springer Spaniel after more than 30 years near Washington, D.C.
Loss of Life is his first novel.
