At Johns Hopkins, Clara Wang is a lecturer in the MS in Data Analytics and Policy program.

Wang is currently a data scientist at a large technology company, where she analyzes cloud utilization metrics. Previously, she was a data scientist at Protocol, leading the development of data products for the China team. Wang also worked as a data scientist on Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign, as well as on President Biden’s and then Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaigns. Prior to these roles, she worked as an applied data scientist at Civis Analytics on the political and healthcare teams.

Wang has also spent time at the Brookings Institution’s John L. Thornton China Center, where she supported scholarship and writing related to US-China relations. She has conducted research on data privacy, misinformation, and information control. Her work has been published in the China Quarterly, Research & Politics, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Wang is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Yenching Academy of Peking University.
