Manail Anis Ahmed

At Johns Hopkins, Manail Anis Ahmed is a lecturer in the Master of Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship program.
She combines expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development, ethics and moral philosophy, global policy, computing and information systems, and the social sciences.
As an educator and thought leader on technology and society, Anis Ahmed has devoted two decades to building educational institutions and human capital development strategy in the Middle East and South Asia. She now advises global governments on digital public infrastructure.
While a visiting lecturer at Princeton University, she designed and taught courses on Responsible AI. She has led a global research group at the Center for AI and Digital Policy in Washington D.C. and is a Public Voices Fellow for Equality Now, advocating for the economic participation of women and girls globally. She also is a member of the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance. Anis Ahmed brings a whole-systems approach to examining the impact of technology, especially AI, on global business and society.
