At Johns Hopkins, James “Jamie” Costello is a lecturer in the Master of Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship program.

A dynamic leader in biotechnology and health, he brings a unique blend of expertise in genetic counseling, stem cell technologies, and entrepreneurial leadership to his teaching role. He is a current Seeds Scientific and Research and Performance Institute Fellow.

Costello is the Founder and CEO of KlothoGenics, a pioneer in developing a web-based platform that provides personalized genetic insights and helps thousands achieve optimal health and longevity. He is an invited speaker on muscle building, repair, and maintenance; the use of rapamycin for anti-aging; and the impact of lifestyle on cellular information, the immune system and cellular repair. He also has been a founder or executive officer at investment, vending, and wholesale beverage distribution businesses. He began his business career as a CPA and Audit Manager at Price Waterhouse.

Having built a career that bridges cutting-edge scientific research with practical health applications, Costello is driven by a desire to understand the complexities of human biology and translate that understanding into actionable insights that improve lives. He is deeply committed to education and knowledge sharing and began his teaching experience as a lecturer in Introductory Accounting at the University of Southern California. His teaching interests are advanced cell biology, cellular signal transduction, emerging biotechnology applications, finance, and strategic planning. He is always looking for opportunities to collaborate, mentor, and innovate within the scientific community. Whether through research, teaching, or consulting, his goal is to push the boundaries of what’s possible in biotechnology and health.

Costello has MS degrees in Individualized Genomics and Health and Regenerative and Stem Cell Technologies from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He received a post-master’s certificate in Genomic Counselling and Variant Interpretation from the University of British Columbia and has had advanced training with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and The Jackson Laboratory.
