At Johns Hopkins, Jess Baldenhofer serves as a lecturer in the MA in Museum Studies program. An experienced museum educator, she currently consults for museums and schools and previously managed school programs at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. There she taught the course Art & Activity: Interactive Strategies for Engaging with Art, as well as designed programming for school and teacher audiences.

Baldenhofer has presented at home and abroad on museum programming for teachers and students and managed school visits at the Guggenheim Museum, as well as at the New-York Historical Society. She also held the education director position at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon. She is the author of Come Look With Me: Exploring Modern Art, as part of a Bank Street Series.

Baldenhofer holds a BA in art history from the College of William & Mary, an MA in art history from the University of Richmond in London, and an MSEd in museum education from Bank Street College.
