Karina Wizevich
Associate Program Director, Sr. Lecturer
At Johns Hopkins, Karina Wizevich is the Associate Program Director and a senior lecturer for the MA in Museum Studies program.
Wizevich has worked in the museum field for over 25 years, both in-house and as a consultant. In-house positions included being the director of exhibits and architecture at the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, New York, and five years at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, ending as the acting vice president of the guest experience.
Wizevich was a Fulbright scholar in New Zealand and worked with a variety of museums, including the Museum of New Zealand. Her current consulting clients include history, science, art, and performing arts institutions, such as the American Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Vassar College Theater, the Florence Griswold Museum, and the Mystic Seaport. She and her family lived and worked in Basel, Switzerland, where she visited and studied hundreds of European museums. Her interests lie in the intersection of museum architecture and the visitor experience.
She holds a Master of Science from Cornell University in design and environmental analysis and a PhD from Victoria University, in New Zealand, in architecture/museum studies.
