Luke Thorstenson

As Director of Corporate Partnerships at Johns Hopkins University, Luke works with partners in industry to establish collaborative opportunities for faculty, researchers, and students. He is also responsible for developing and advising start-up companies from the Institute for Nano+Biotechnology at the Whiting School of Engineering (WSE). His primary areas of responsibility are in the following fields: Translational Tissue Engineering, Stem Cells & Regenerative Engineering, and Process Engineering at the Nanoscale. In addition, he manages the Industry Co-Op for WSE and JHU’s long-standing collaboration with The Inter-University MicroElectronics Center (imec) in Leuven, Belgium.

Luke is active in the start-up community in Baltimore, both as an entrepreneur (participating in the Hexcite incubator program at the JHU School of Medicine), and as a strategic adviser through a locally based consulting firm.

Prior to JHU, Luke worked in the regenerative medicine sector with the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine, Adjuvant Partners, and Hitachi Chemical Advanced Therapeutics Solutions (formerly known as PCT). Luke has an MBA with a focus on health care management from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and an undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently teaches Creating a Biotechnology Enterprise at AAP.
