In this role as the team leader, Kurt oversees the AAP Life Design team, ensuring that students receive comprehensive career and life design support throughout their journey at Hopkins and beyond. His work includes strategic planning for meaningful student engagement, supporting the team in designing and implementing innovative, scalable programs that equip students with toolkits and resources, and collaborating with AAP faculty, student affairs leadership, and staff to foster a collaborative career ecosystem.

Kurt joined the Life Design Lab-Integrative Learning & Life Design at Johns Hopkins University in August 2022, bringing prior experience from career services roles at Purdue University and Texas A&M University-San Antonio. He holds a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from St. Mary’s University.

In this role, Fajin-Riveiro coaches and empowers students as they navigate their career journeys. With her team, she plans, organizes, and executes graduate programming, including launching the Life Design Chronicles Podcast, where industry professionals join as guests and are interviewed by graduate student hosts from AAP programs. She also provides career counseling—including specialized guidance for students pursuing careers in the federal sector—and assists with résumé and cover letter reviews. Through her work, she connects students to mentorship, immersive industry experiences, and career resources, ensuring they have the tools to design fulfilling and purposeful careers aligned with their values and aspirations.

Fajin-Riveiro joined the Life Design Lab for Integrative Learning & Life Design at Johns Hopkins University in July 2023. Originally from Galicia, Spain, she has lived and worked in Spain, Sweden, and the United States, an international experience that has shaped her deep understanding of community, belonging, and global career pathways.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics and Literature from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (2013) and a Master of Fine Arts in Illustration Practice from Maryland Institute College of Art (2021). A firm believer in the Life Design principles—getting curious, imagining possible lives, experiencing more, and telling one’s story—Fajin-Riveiro is dedicated to helping AAP students approach their careers with confidence and clarity.
