Recipients of 2025 Good Science Project–MA in Science Writing Fellowship grants are:

Lindsay Gellman

Lindsay Gellman is a writer based in New York. Her reporting on health, business, technology, and culture has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, WIRED, The Atlantic, New York Magazine, National Geographic, Los Angeles Review of Books, British Vogue, Longreads, and on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered. She is an adjunct faculty member at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter School of Journalism, where she teaches reporting in the sciences, health, and the environment.

Sruthi Balakrishnan

Sruthi Balakrishnan is a freelance science writer with a PhD in biology. Her work has been published in The Scientist, Science the Wire, and Massive Science.

Andy Carstens

Andy Carstens is a freelance science journalist and writer based in Denver, CO. He has an MA in science writing from Johns Hopkins University. He currently contributes regularly to TheBody while pitching other assignments. His work has appeared in The Scientist, Audubon, Slate, Them, and other publications.

Katherine Greene

Katherine Greene has spent the last ten years working in research and diagnostic labs. She is a student in the JHU MA in Science Writing program.

Caty Enders

Enders is a journalist and research scientist in New Mexico studying the effects of social media on the brain. A former Knight Science Journalism Fellow and editor at The Guardian, she has written and edited enterprising stories focused on science, health, and the environment.

Clare Fieseler

Fieseler is a journalist and a scientist. Her bylines have appeared in Vox, Slate, National Geographic, and The Washington Post, among other outlets. She also reports on climate change and environmental topics for The Post and Courier, South Carolina’s largest newspaper.

Jyoti Madhusoodanan

Madhusoodanan is a science journalist covering health, medicine, and biology. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, NPR, Scientific American, Undark, Science, Nature, and many other publications.

James is a freelance journalist and editor. She is earning her master's degree in science writing at Johns Hopkins University.
