In celebration of the 20th anniversary of National Sunshine Week, the Johns Hopkins University MA in Communication program is pleased to co-host Sunshine Fest on March 20, 2025, at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center.

Following a March 19 reception, the in-person conference on March 20 will bring journalists, record custodians, policy makers, historians, librarians, academics, commercial date providers and others together to seek solutions to pressing problems in freedom of information across all disciplinary and geographic boundaries. With a focus on transparency at the local, state, federal and global levels, conference attendees will craft an action plan to improve the public’s ability to acquire information needed to self-govern. Full details of the event, including a list of speakers, are available on the Sunshine Week website.

Hosted in coordination with the Joseph L. Brechner Freedom of Information Project at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, and the National Freedom of Information Coalition, Sunshine Fest is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Registration is limited to 160. JHU members can secure free admission by entering their JHU email and the waiver code PleaseWaiveFee.
