Nonprofits Rethinking Strategy in Time of Unrest
Event Actions
Join Kathryn Gamble, a lecturer in the MA in Nonprofit Management program, and Jennifer Wright Dorr, a lecturer in the MA in Communication program, to explore three “power” communication skills nonprofits can use to navigate uncertainty and remain relevant.
The speakers will discuss how to:
- Think strategically by grounding messaging in organizational values and defining clear impact.
- Build human connections through empathy, one-to-one relationships, and trusted messengers.
- Use plain, authentic language to communicate with clarity and stay relevant.
The session concludes with an audience Q&A moderated by Kandyce Sawyer, director of the MA in Nonprofit Management program.
Gamble is a distinguished nonprofit leader with more than 30 years of experience and expertise in fundraising. She recently retired from the Gail Perry Group, where she advised CEOs, boards, and development leaders on major and capital campaigns, helping organizations achieve transformational results.
Wright Dorr brings two decades of nonprofit leadership experience creating and executing communication campaigns across digital, web, video, social, and print platforms. She currently serves as director of programs and services for the Healing Works Foundation, a nonprofit health foundation in the Washington, D.C. area focused on advancing insights and innovations in healing and whole-person care, principally in primary care and oncology.
