Join us for a discussion on critical media theory, ethnocentrism, the commodification of Black activism, and narratives of polarization.

Join Assistant Program Director Patricia Hernandez  from the MA in Communication program for the next installment of the COMMnections webinar series when she hosts Dr. Sholnn Z. Freeman for a discussion on critical media theory, ethnocentrism, the commodification of Black activism, and narratives of polarization.

Drawing on his research, which challenges claims of Russian interference in Black media, Freeman will also expose the unintended consequences of the disinformation frenzy—curbing free speech, fueling elite racism, and reviving Cold War-era stereotypes.
