Yoav Magid
Lecturer
Yoav is a communicator, educator, and political strategist. He has taught public speaking and argumentation to audiences ranging from 6th graders to Fortune 500 executives and from NGO leaders to national politicians (and a former Secretary of Education) and coached winning debate teams. Working on several state and national political campaigns, Yoav saw the power of storytelling in persuasive communication, so the past 5 years, he has immersed himself in the Washington, D.C. storytelling scene, performing on stages throughout the city.
Yoav’s educational philosophy centers on teaching people new skills, or better yet, showing them the skills they didn’t know they already have. He currently advises two congressional candidates on communication strategy and teaches Understanding Markets and Audiences at Johns Hopkins.
