At Johns Hopkins, Samantha Carroll serves as a lecturer in the MA in Communication program where she draws on her experience as an award-winning communications strategist and leadership advisor with more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, education, technology, and social advocacy sectors. CEO of Once Upon A Brand, LLC, she advises senior leaders and global organizations on strategic communications, brand positioning, executive messaging, and stakeholder engagement. Her work emphasizes research-driven strategy, clarity of narrative, and ethical communication practices.

In 2024, Carroll co-founded a leadership development community and regularly speaks and consults on executive communications, strategic storytelling, and executive presence. Her work includes initiatives focused on brand storytelling, board readiness, leadership communication, and organizational efficiency.

Her professional service also includes judging awards on behalf of the Public Relations Society of America, serving on expert panels for academic and industry audiences, and contributing to university advancement and alumni engagement initiatives. She was a 2024 Family Focus Media Women of Influence Award winner and a PRSA Pepperpot Award winner for Executive Communications.

Carroll holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, with a focus on Strategic Communication, and a BA in Economics, cum laude, from Emory University. She serves on a youth education nonprofit board and as a Lead for the Hoya Social Impact Alliance at Georgetown University.
