Robert Byron

Robert G. Byron, MD, MPH, FACP, is an internist in Montana. After receiving a BA in biology from Vanderbilt University he served for four years as an officer in the US Navy. He received his MD degree from the University of Louisville, graduating magna cum laude, then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Along with Lori, his wife and a pediatrician, he worked for over two decades on the Crow Indian Reservation before retiring to help start Bighorn Valley Health Center, now called OneHealth, a federally-qualified health center in Hardin, Montana.
Robert is a former governor of the Montana Chapter of the American College of Physicians and was appointed to the Montana Board of Environmental Review from 2105-2017. Together he and his wife helped found Montana Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate. He is one of the lead authors of “Climate Change and Human Health – A Special Report of the Montana Climate Assessment,” and is a chapter author on the National Climate Assessment 5, currently under development.
