Mona Khadem Sameni

At Johns Hopkins, Mona Khadem Sameni is a Program Coordinator and senior lecturer for the MS in Applied Economics program.
Before joining Johns Hopkins, Sameni was a lecturer at James Madison University, where she taught a range of courses, including Senior Capstone Seminar, Health Economics, Labor Economics, Industrial Organization, Transportation Economics, and Microeconomics. Additionally, she provided academic advising to students and collaborated with the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences on curriculum development.
Sameni’s academic interests focus on health economics, evidenced by her recent publications on AI applications in healthcare and the performance disparities in healthcare systems of OECD countries during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her research has been presented at both national and international conferences, and she has mentored several research assistants.
Mona earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
