Mohamed Hafez

At Johns Hopkins, Mohamed Hafez is a lecturer for the MS in Energy Policy and Climate program.

Hafez is a passionate innovator and technologist dedicated to blending technology with strategic thinking and ethical considerations. As the founder and CEO of ByteWise-LLC, Mr. Hafez drives value by empowering individuals and enterprises with on-site learning, corporate training, technical meetups, and speaking events. ByteWise’s mission is to leverage innovative technology to solve complex problems while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Acting as a “Field CTO,” Mr. Hafez focuses on technology strategy, driving value through technology consulting, education, and tech evangelism. He guides companies through digital transformation, cybersecurity, applied AI and machine learning, and the development of custom LLMs, ensuring solutions are both effective and tailored to each organization’s unique needs.

Hafez’s commitment to technological education extends to his role as a public speaker and podcast host. As the host of the “ByteWise Broadcast,” he blends technology with philosophy, discussing the latest innovations and their societal impacts. With an MBA in Executive Leadership from James Madison University and deep expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and global network engineering, he brings a comprehensive, insightful perspective to his audience.

An avid strategist, Hafez’s love for board games and war gaming, particularly his monthly sessions of Twilight Imperium, reflects his ability to apply game theory to strategic decision-making. This passion for complex problem-solving and forward-thinking tactics informs his approach to technology strategy and ethical AI, allowing him to offer companies robust, well-planned technological roadmaps.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Hafez is also an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer, as well as a PADI-certified Scuba Diving Instructor. A tech geek at heart, he enjoys exploring VR and 360 video development, constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the tech world.
