Lori Byron

Lori G Byron, MD, MS, FAAP is a general pediatrician in Red Lodge, MT. She received her BS in mathematics and BA in Religion and Philosophy from Kentucky Wesleyan College, her MD from University of Louisville, and did her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She retired from the Indian Health Service after 27 years on the Crow Indian Reservation and now works as a Pediatric Hospitalist in Billings, MT. She is a recent graduate of the JH Energy Policy and Climate program.
Lori serves on the Children’s Health Advisory Committee to EPA and the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council on Environmental Health and Climate Change. She founded and organizes the AAP Chapter Climate Advocates’ Program. Along with her husband Rob, they co-founded and co-chair the Montana Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate. She is a past president of the Montana Chapter of the AAP and founder of their climate committee. She is an author of the 2021 “Climate Change and Human Health – A Special Report of the Montana Climate Assessment.”
