Kristen Willett
Associate Program Director, Sr. Lecturer
At Johns Hopkins, Kristen Willett is the Associate Program Director and a senior lecturer for the MA in Communication program.
Willett has also taught communication courses at the University of Maryland-College Park, George Mason University, and Northern Virginia Community College. She has taught courses in interpersonal communication, event planning, and public address. Her research has been published in several journals and she has presented her research at conferences throughout the United States. Her dissertation focused on communication between fibromyalgia patients and their partners. Willett’s research interests include health communication, interpersonal communication, risk and strategic communication, as well as academic advising, retention, and student learning outcomes.
Willett earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies and English from Christopher Newport University and a Master of Arts in communication from George Mason University, where she also earned a PhD in communication with a focus in health communication.
