At Johns Hopkins, Jason D. West is a lecturer for the MA in Communication program.

West is also Chief Strategy Officer at Synalysis Group, advancing the state of knowledge through research synthesis and interpretive analysis. He has a talent and passion for conducting qualitative research and an insatiable curiosity about why people behave and feel the way they do. His substantive knowledge base includes countless research studies and consultation engagements that have helped solve clients’ complex problems to determine content, marketing, advertising, and new product development strategies. Previously, he led research efforts for a North American research-based strategy consultation, where he was pivotal in developing strategies that successfully adapted to evolving consumer attitudes and emerging technologies. He has also served as the Director of Research at CBS Television Distribution, where he led the research departments for the Entertainment Tonight franchise.

West holds a BA in Communication Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an MBA from Loyola Marymount University, and is a doctoral student studying Business Administration with a focus on Business Intelligence at Marymount University.
