James Taylor

James Taylor has been an online mathematics instructor since 2005. He started his online teaching career with the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University. There he taught K-12 gifted students the beauty of mathematics. He delights in turning the math-averse into math geeks.

He earned his Ph.D. at Rutgers University in 2003 in mathematics. His specialty was studying the mathematics of quantum physics. After a couple of years of traditional college teaching, he turned his eye towards online education. In his spare time, he enjoys programming in JavaScript, the language of the browser.

In 2009, he came to work for Advanced Academic Programs to teach Quantitative Methods. He developed the online version within a year and has been happily teaching that course ever since.
