At Johns Hopkins, Haven McCall is a lecturer in the MS in Regulatory Science and MS in Biotechnology programs.

McCall is the founder of Canyon Laboratories and has served as its CEO since its creation in October 2020. He is an experienced leader who has spent more than 20 years working in key positions at large multinational corporations in the areas of clinical research involving human subjects, quality, and regulatory. His doctoral studies at the University of Southern California focused on improving the standard of care for patients through risk mitigation and quality principles.

Haven is an active member of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative, Society of Clinical Research Associates, Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, American Society for Quality, Project Management Institute and The Organization for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs. He has participated within these organizations to drive improvements for industry best practices, regulations, guidance documents, standards, and directives.

As the institutional official, McCall is responsible for the Human Research Protection Program and ensures the safety, rights, and welfare of human subjects are protected. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the Institutional Review Board and ensures research is conducted in accordance with ethical standards and federal regulations.

Throughout his career, McCall has taught graduate-level courses in clinical research, quality, and regulatory at various universities.
