Time Limitation Exemption Appeal Application
AAP students are required to complete all academic work in a master’s degree or certificate program within 5 years, calculated from the start of the first course that counts toward the degree (including time spent on continuous enrollment). In some instances, students may appeal the time limitation policy regarding previously completed courses.
To initiate the Time Limitation Exemption Appeal Process, students must first re-apply and be admitted to their desired master’s program. After a student is re-admitted, they can begin the appeal process by completing and submitting the Time Limitation Exemption Application and all required documentation. AAP Student Services will coordinate the appeal process, including collection of documents for review. The AAP Program Chairs will review each appeal.
AAP Student Services will provide the Program Chairs with all the submitted documentation. In their decision-making process, the Program Chairs will also consider: 1) how well the student did in the coursework under appeal; 2) how much equity the student has in the degree (must have completed at least 50% of the degree); and 3) the relevancy of the courses under appeal to the current degree.
Students should contact [email protected] with any questions concerning the appeal process.
