Janelle Versnick, GISP, is a certified GIS Professional and an Adjunct Professor for the AAP Geographic Information Systems Programs, developing and teaching 430.619 Web Application Development, and teaching 430.606 Programming in GIS. She is a GIS Analyst at a quasi-governmental property insurance company in Florida focusing on data automation, analysis, and application development for the Corporate Analytics division.

Janelle received her BS in Environmental Studies from Florida State University (2004), and after interning at the United States Geological Survey and Atkins (formerly PBS&J), she was employed as a GIS Specialist at AECOM (formerly URS Corp) and a Basemap Coordinator/GIS Analyst with the Florida Department of Transportation Statistics group. While working full-time as an Analyst, she recently completed her MS in GIS at Johns Hopkins University. Janelle has been very active in the local GIS community, serving as 2014-2016 board president of Seven Hills Regional User group for GIS (SHRUG), located in Tallahassee, Florida. Her main area of interest is creative applications of GIS, recently authoring a web application that delivers music derived from GIS data.
