Arina Khan
Lecturer
At Johns Hopkins, Arina Khan serves as a lecturer in the MS in Environmental Sciences and Policy program. An accomplished geoscientist and educator, she brings a strong background in hydrogeology, environmental geology, and water resource management to JHU.
Khan’s research explores groundwater quality, land-use change, and sustainable water management, with an emphasis on GIS and remote sensing applications. Her academic contributions include peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and national and international conference presentations. She has also served as a Junior and Senior Research Fellow under the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research for the Government of India.
Khan earned her PhD in Geology from Aligarh Muslim University, India, where her research focused on GIS-based aquifer vulnerability and groundwater hydrochemistry in the upper Ganges basin. She also holds a MS and BS in Geology and Applied Geology, both completed with distinction, and serves as a lecturer in the Department of Geological Sciences at George Washington University, where she teaches Physical and Environmental Geology.
