Kathleen Johnson

At Johns Hopkins, Kathleen Johnson is a lecturer for the MS in Applied Economics program.

Kathleen is a former Deputy Associate Director at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, where she served for 25 years. Most recently, she provided leadership and oversight of the Federal Reserve’s supervisory stress test of the largest and most complex financial institutions in the United States. She is currently a subject matter expert in stress testing for the International Monetary Fund’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department.

Kathleen’s research has focused on household consumption and credit, specifically issues related to household liquidity constraints. She has published in The Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Real Estate Economics, and the Monthly Labor Review.

Kathleen received her PhD from the University of Maryland at College Park.
