Cybersecurity and national security expert Clint Watts will address more than 900 graduates at the 2024 Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Master’s Graduation Ceremony on Monday, May 20, at 7 p.m. on Homewood Field in Baltimore.

Clint WattsWatts is the leader of the Microsoft Threat Analysis Center, which detects and disrupts foreign malign-influence efforts affecting democracies globally, and was the founder of Miburo, a digital analysis and consulting company acquired by Microsoft in July 2022.

“We are honored to have Clint Watts address our graduates as they close this chapter of their educational journey and embark on new endeavors in the increasingly complex world that Mr. Watts understands so well,” says Veronica Donahue, associate dean for graduate and professional programs in the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. “We look forward to Mr. Watts sharing insight with our graduates as he draws on the experience he has gained over a long and distinguished career.”

Watts’ career includes time as a U.S. Army infantry officer, FBI special agent, executive officer of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, consultant to the FBI’s Counter Terrorism Division and National Security Branch, and analyst supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community and U.S. Special Operations Command. He has shared his expertise with the public as a national security contributor for NBC News and MSNBC, as a contributor to multiple national publications, and through his book Messing With The Enemy: Surviving in a Social Media World of Hackers, Terrorists, Russians and Fake News.

In addition to the graduates, more than 4,000 guests are expected to be on hand for the 2024 KSAS Master’s Graduation Ceremony. Following the ceremony, the Krieger School community will gather on the Homewood campus’ Keyser Quad, in front of the iconic Gilman Hall, for a reception.
