Ashley Acosta-Fox

Ashley Acosta-Fox holds a B.A. in Philosophy & Religious Studies from Old Dominion University, an M.S. in Education from Johns Hopkins University, and is ABD in Philosophy at the University of Kansas. Her doctoral coursework is in analytic philosophy, and she cultivated a particular interest in both medieval philosophy and the philosophy of literature through her experience in the classroom, teaching and developing curriculum for an undergraduate great books sequence at KU. From 2015-2020, she worked as an Instructional Designer at JHU’s Washington, D.C. campus, first in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and finally in the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. While at Hopkins, she partnered with faculty to design and develop over seventy fully-online graduate-level courses and launched SAIS’s first fully-online master’s program. She works full-time for the federal government. In her spare time, you can find her watching classic sci-fi TV shows and tinkering with vintage computer tech. Service-minded and holding a strong commitment to activism and volunteering, Ashley currently serves on the Junior League of Washington’s Technology Committee and as a volunteer usher for the Folger Shakespeare Library.
