At Johns Hopkins, Salem Abo-Zaid is a lecturer in the MS in Applied Economics and the MS in Financial Economics programs. He is also a Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and has experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate core courses, as well as advanced courses in macroeconomics. His main research interests are in monetary policy, fiscal policy, business cycles, and macroeconomics, more generally. His work has been published in journals such as the European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Economic Inquiry, and Macroeconomic Dynamics.

Since 2018, Abo-Zaid has been serving as an Associate Editor at the Journal of Money, Credit & Banking. Previously he was an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland.
