Daniel Stone

At Johns Hopkins, Daniel Stone is a lecturer for the MS in Environmental Sciences and Policy program.

Stone is a bestselling author and longtime journalist who covers science, history, and exploration. He is a former senior editor and current contributing editor for National Geographic and was a White House correspondent for Newsweek during the Obama administration. His work has appeared in The Washington Post, Scientific American, and on CBS’s 60 Minutes. He is the author of the national bestseller The Food Explorer, on the life and adventures of food spy David Fairchild, and Sinkable, a tale of obsession, the deep sea, and the world’s most legendary shipwreck. He holds a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis. He lives in Santa Barbara.
