Steven Bennett received his B.A. in chemistry from the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Delaware. He taught for several years at state universities in Ohio and Pennsylvania before moving into his current role at a Washington, D.C.-based trade association, The Household & Commercial Products Association. He also is a member of multiple EPA external advisory committees pertaining to chemical and pesticide issues. He integrates his broad chemistry understanding with practical real-world examples in Chemistry of Natural Processes building upon a paper he co-wrote entitled “Using Chemistry as a Medium for Energy Education: Suggestions for Content and Pedagogy in a Nonmajors Course.” He brings expertise on chemical use and exposure, chemical management policies, green chemistry, air quality and sustainability into the online classroom.
