Nadia Karamcheva is an economist at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in Washington D.C. Prior to joining CBO, she worked at the Urban Institute and at the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. Her research focuses on topics in labor economics and applied econometrics, with emphasis on retirement and the economics of aging. Her most recent work examined issues related to Social Security, public and private pension plans, labor supply of older adults, retirement income security, and wealth inequality.

She has a PhD in Economics from Boston College, an MA in Economics from the same university, and a BA in Economics and Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria.
