Student Health Insurance
It is highly recommended that all AAP students maintain adequate health insurance coverage to provide protection against unexpected accidents and illnesses. The University Student Health Insurance Plan is administered by Aetna Student Health and underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance Company. You must be at a full-time status, taking a minimum of three courses a semester, in order to be eligible to purchase the University Student Health Insurance Plan. International Students who are enrolled in three courses or more to satisfy their visa requirements are considered full-time status and are required to enroll in the University Student Health Insurance plan or a comparable plan. Medical care in the United States is very expensive. In the event of an unexpected accident requiring professional care, the JHU Student Health Insurance plan will make the experience less stressful. The Student Health Insurance Plan is administered by Aetna Student Health and is underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance Company. Once a member of the Student Health Plan, students can search on the Aetna Student Health site for a doctor nearby where they live. Students are not restricted to the University-sponsored plan and may find comparable plans at the websites below.
