Using the Johns Hopkins Libraries
Library ServiceThe Eisenhower Library (library.jhu.edu) can electronically post your course readings, course notes, syllabi, and exams. The Eisenhower Library can also order your reserves for the reserve desk at your teaching site. To request electronic postings or to submit a reserve request, send your syllabus or list of citations by email to reserves@jhu.edu or by completing the reserve form at http://www.library.jhu.edu/services/forms/reserves.html approximately four weeks prior to your course start date. Before submitting your request, please review the library reserve collection policy at http://reserves.library.jhu.edu/access/reserves/findit/policy/index.php. The direct link to the library's readings page is reserves.library.jhu.edu/access/reserves/findit/articles. For information on establishing remote access in order to access e-readings, visit library.jhu.edu/services/computing/remoteaccess.html. Library PrivilegesYour Johns Hopkins Enterprise Directory (JHED) Login ID allows you access to the Eisenhower Library's extensive electronic databases and search capabilities. You may wish to follow our tutorial on Activating your Johns Hopkins Enterprise Directory (JHED) Login. To obtain borrowing permissions from the Eisenhower Library, you must have an activated J-CARD. Your J-CARD works as your picture identification card, library card, and on-campus cash card. You can obtain your JCard by printing and filling out the J-CARD application. If your office is on the Homewood campus, you can submit the application for processing and to have your picture taken by visiting: Office of ID Card Services During the first two weeks of September, we card all new students. To avoid lines, you might want to put off getting your J-CARD until after then. If your office is located at a campus or center other than Homewood, you do not need to have your photo taken. You may choose to fax or mail in your application and your J-CARD will be mailed to you via interdepartmental mail. For more information on J-CARDs, visit the office of ID Card Services website.
