Join MA in Government Program Director Dorothea Wolfson as she hosts a Brown Bag Lunch discussion and Q&A with Eli Lehrer, a Johns Hopkins graduate and president and co-founder of The R Street Institute.

Lehrer will provide a look back at his career and discuss the status of his current work and the significant role he played in establishing RSI, a think tank that seeks pragmatic solutions to complex public policy challenges, as an important voice in the Washington, D.C. policy scene.

Previously Lehrer served as the vice president of the D.C. office of the Heartland Institute and as a speechwriter for then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.). He also worked as a senior editor for the public policy magazine The American Enterprise, as a fellow with The Heritage Foundation, and as a reporter at The Washington Times. He currently serves as a contributing editor to the quarterly magazine National Affairs.

Lehrer’s work has appeared in The Washington Post, USA Today, and The New York Times, among other publications. A graduate of Cornell University, Lehrer earned his MA in Government at Johns Hopkins and loves science fiction television, visiting museums, and hiking.

This event will take place in room B262 at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center.
