Dr. Jennifer Bachner, Director of the Government Analytics program, and Dr. Benjamin Ginsberg, Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Center for Advanced Governmental Studies, conducted a survey to find out what Americans know and think about their state governments. Although states handle critical issues like education, health care and social services, Americans know very little about who runs their state governments and how they work.
