Orhun Aydin, Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Orhun Aydin is an adjunct faculty in the JHU Geographic Information Systems program. He teaches AS.430.603 Geospatial Statistics and AS.430. 633 Advanced Spatio-Temporal Statistics.

Orhun is a researcher in Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), conducting research into theory and applications of spatial and spatio-temporal methods for forecasting and grouping spatial and spatio-temporal phenomena. He is also a product engineer for the R-ArcGIS Bridge, which enable vast R libraries to be seamlessly used in GIS analysis.

Orhun holds a PhD, PhD minor and MSc degree from Stanford University, School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences. In his graduate research, he specialized in geostatistics, spatial statistics, computer vision and level-sets.
