Mark A. Washington, Adjunct Faculty
Mark is the Senior Manager of Information Systems for Johns Hopkins Facilities and Real Estate Department and is the architect of the Johns Hopkins Geographic Information System for infrastructure, supporting all university constituents. He is responsible for the management and maintenance of all Facilities enterprise software applications and systems, including GIS and leading staff to collect, store and render all geographic data. Mark’s implementation of the Esri geodatabase supports all requirements for major stakeholders at Johns Hopkins in the areas of: design & construction, engineering, grounds and building maintenance, sustainability, utilities and real estate. Mark has previously led all facilities information technology initiatives at Princeton University, including launching their Facilities GIS in 2006. He also taught as an adjunct faculty member at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey, teaching core courses in the Information Technology Department for more than 6 years. Mark also developed and implemented emergency response mobile mapping technology solutions for Facilities & Real Estate and collaborated with staff and consultants to accomplish all GIS enhancement goals. Mark has a B.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, and an M.S. from Rutgers University.
